Jealousy rooted me out this morning. Envy of seeing others brillant photos of white and winter. I deceided this would be my morning, our morning to shine. We put on our headlamp for the first time and suited up for a below 0 ski.
Our mission: breathe the fresh air and freeze not
To our delightful surprise, clouds were in the southeast! It was not so crisp a morning as the last two days, a mere -5F instead of -20F. Its all perspective. The clouds offered a luciously textured sky. The sun rose red. That yellow ball pervades the darkness, splashing streaks of pink and red painting the sky. Gale wonders WHY are we stopped. She is moving ready to go.

A soft pink with so much white crystals. They're not sparkling yet, the full sun will initiate that. For now, its a softer glow.

The swamp shrubbery frosted in crystals. Clouds resting gently overhead. Attentive ears listening and looking. This is my Gale.
This is also Gale, questioning the command to sit. Paws splayed out saying this is not a warm bed to rest on!

The joy of running. The joy of movement. Life is joy.

This morning reels
